April 1

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s World Beats show of music inspired by Grand Prix host countries (last day). Includes  roving bands and dance acts inlcuding an Italian saxophone-balloon aerialist act and a UK band playing hits on car parts. The park has extended hours until 10pm while the shows are on. April 9

Gulf Film Festival, in its seventh year, now takes place at Vox, Mall of the Emirates. Free tickets to the Arabic films screened (with English subtitles)are issued in two lots, when the box office opens each day starting on April 9th at 10.30am, and again two hours prior to the start time of each screening. See Retro Culture, an exhibition at Media One Hotel (from April 9-30), by British artist Mel Pickup with 25 new retro pieces in a celebration of the 1980s in acrylics, inks, aerosol and collage. Twenty per cent of each sale goes to Senses, a non-profit organisation and residential care centre for children with multiple disabilities.

April 24

Sarah Geronimo brings her “Perfect 10” concert to the du Forum, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, with special guests Mark Bautista, James Reid and the G-Force dancers. Third and final day of Chilli crab festival, the annual event at Souk Madinat Jumeirah serving Singaporean chilli crab and other Asian dishes such as dim sum, wok-fried blue swimmer crab and tempura crispy crab, with cooking demonstrations, live entertainment and a children’s corner. 6pm-midnight (Thursday); 1pm-midnight (Friday and Saturday).

NUMAISH, an exhibition with more than 45 designers from India, Pakistan and the UAE, at Diamond Ballroom, The Address Dubai Mall. Designers include Gaurang, Purvi Doshi, Anushree Reddy, Ek Karkhana, Jayanti Reddy and Studio Sajid.

April 27
